Airport to Lodging - Day One

Well, the ride to where we are staying was uneventful, other than that we were starving. We are sure that our confirmation said to check in BY 4:00pm., and we arrived right about 4. Upon arrival, our room was not ready, so we were invited to partake of complimentary margaritas in the lobby bar. On empty stomachs, they were rather potent, and the second complimentary one was mucho stronger than the first.

After about 45 minutes, we were given our room key and info on the facilities. We arrived at our room to find a maid still cleaning -- room not ready! Back to the lobby. By now we are both suffering from heart burn and stomach cramps from dos margaritas on empty stomachs, big time. Another wait in the lobby. We decide to go eat dinner in the restaurant then go to our room.

Dinner was pretty good -- one item that was particularly tastly was chilled cream mango soup with pepper (cayenne?). After dinner -- back to our room, room not ready. Back to lobby to complain as it is now dark and a couple hours past 4pm. We end up getting an upgrade to an ocean view room that is not bad at all. Here is our view from inside the room looking over the balcony:

We agreed to listen to the timeshare presentation over breakfast in order to get $90 off a local area tour of our choice in the morning. By 6:30 we were in bed and fast asleep!
